What "independent" means in the pokies market
An independent online casino runs under one brand, with its own cashier, its own support desk and its own bonus terms. It doesn't share a back office with ten sister sites the way a network label does. Ozwin Casino, Fair Go Casino, LevelUp Casino and SkyCrown are all examples of single-brand pokies sites built this way. Each one stands or falls on its own reputation rather than on a shared parent company's name.
That structure cuts both ways. A single-brand site can move faster: a support ticket goes to one team, not a shared queue serving five brands under different logos. It can also disappear faster, because there's no group reputation propping it up if the site runs into trouble.
The five casinos we compare below all present themselves as independent casino sites aimed at Australian players. Below the surface, two of them turn out to be run by the same company as another brand on the list, which is exactly the kind of thing worth checking before you deposit.
What we like / What could be better
What we like
- CrownPokies lists PayID at the cashier, matching the local bank rail instead of routing everything through cards or crypto.
- Richard Casino states its 40x wagering runs on the bonus amount, so you can calculate the exact turnover before you deposit.
- Weekly reload and cashback offers, 3% to 7%, keep running after the welcome package, without a stated wagering requirement in what we checked.
- All four welcome packages we found set the same A$8 max bet cap during wagering, so the rule is easy to remember across brands.
What could be better
- WantedWin and Crusino returned a 403 error to Australian visitors on our 2026-08-04 check, so their lobby and cashier weren't visible to us.
- Four of the five welcome bonuses publish a 40x figure without stating whether it applies to the bonus alone or to deposit plus bonus.
- Richard Casino and StayCasino share one operating company, and WantedWin and Crusino share another, so the brands aren't as separate as the individual names suggest.
- We haven't published withdrawal-time data for any of these five brands yet.
How the five independent casinos compare
Bonus size tells you almost nothing on its own. Wagering, the deposit floor and whether the site even loads from an Australian IP address matter more once you're trying to actually play.
| Casino | Welcome offer | Wagering | Min. deposit | Max bet while wagering | PayID | Loads from AU |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Richard Casino | A$5,000 + 500 free spins | 40x on bonus | A$30 | A$8 | No | Yes |
| StayCasino | A$5,000 + 350 free spins | 40x, base not stated | A$30 | A$8 | No | Yes |
| CrownPokies | A$5,000 + 500 free spins | 40x, base not stated | A$30 | A$8 | Yes | Yes |
| WantedWin | A$5,000 + 500 free spins | 40x, base not stated | A$30 | A$8 | No | No, blocked on our check |
| Crusino | A$5,000 + 500 free spins | 40x, base not stated | A$20 | A$8 | No | No, blocked on our check |
Richard Casino is the only one of the five that states its wagering runs on the bonus amount alone. The other four publish the same 40x figure without saying whether it applies to the bonus only or to your deposit plus the bonus, which can double the amount you need to turn over.
Same site, different name: how ownership hides behind a brand
The footer of a casino site usually names the company that actually runs it, and that name is often more telling than the logo above it. When we captured Richard Casino's cashier page on 2026-08-02 and StayCasino's on 2026-08-03, the same operating entity showed up on both: Metlait SRL, registered in Costa Rica under company number 3-102-911867. Two different brands, two different colour schemes, one company behind the till.
WantedWin and Crusino follow the same pattern. Both list Novatrix SRL, also registered in Costa Rica, as the operator; WantedWin's filing gives the registration number 3-102-893958.
None of this makes a casino unsafe by itself. Plenty of operators run more than one brand from the same holding company. It does mean the word independent describes the branding more than the ownership, and it's worth five minutes of checking before you treat two sites as genuinely separate options.
Two of the five brands didn't load for us
On 2026-08-04 we tried to reach WantedWin and Crusino from an Australian connection. Both returned a 403 Forbidden page instead of a lobby: no games, no cashier, no bonus terms, just an error message and a support email address ([email protected] and [email protected]). We couldn't confirm payment methods, game studios or the bonus terms beyond what the operator states elsewhere, because the site itself refused the connection.
That's worth knowing before you click through from any comparison, ours included. A casino can look complete in a table and still not open for you on the day you try it. If a brand you're reading about won't load, the error page is the first thing to note, and the support address is your fastest way to ask why.
Read the wagering base, not just the multiplier
A 40x wagering requirement means two very different things depending on what it's calculated against. On a A$30 deposit plus a matching A$30 bonus:
- 40x on the bonus alone: you turn over A$1,200 before you can withdraw.
- 40x on deposit plus bonus: you turn over A$2,400 for the same bonus.
Richard Casino states that its 40x applies to the bonus amount. StayCasino, CrownPokies, WantedWin and Crusino publish the same 40x figure without naming the base, so we can't tell you which of the two numbers above applies to them. Ask support directly before you rely on the headline percentage. It's the one question that changes how much play the bonus is actually worth.
Reload, cashback and free spins beyond the welcome offer
The welcome package is a one-time offer. What keeps an account funded afterwards is the weekly rotation, and it looks similar across brands in this list. Richard Casino, StayCasino and CrownPokies all run a 50% weekend reload from a A$45 minimum deposit, and Richard Casino ties its version to the promo code WEEKEND. Cashback sits between 3% and 7% weekly depending on the brand, paid without a stated wagering requirement in the terms we captured.
Free spins land on Tuesdays across the same three brands, from 100 to 150 spins depending on the promo code used (FS25, FS50, FS80, FS100 and FS150 all appear across the different offers). None of these recurring promotions had an end date in what we checked, so there's no countdown working against you, only the minimum deposit and the day of the week.
Payment methods: PayID, e-wallets and the credit card gap
CrownPokies is the only one of the five brands we checked that lists PayID among its deposit options, alongside Visa, Mastercard, Neosurf, bank transfer, Bitcoin, Ethereum and Tether, as checked on 2026-08-03. Richard Casino and StayCasino both list a wider crypto range (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, Litecoin, Dogecoin) plus MiFinity and Jet Bank as e-wallet options.
Australian banks stopped processing card payments to gambling sites in June 2024, so a Visa or Mastercard logo at the cashier doesn't guarantee the transaction clears. E-wallets, crypto and PayID, where it's offered, are the more reliable route for a first deposit.
Deposit and withdrawal aren't always the same road. A method that takes your money in doesn't automatically pay it back out, and we haven't separately confirmed withdrawal routes for the e-wallets listed here. We also haven't published per-method withdrawal times for any of these five brands yet.
How to check who's really behind a casino before you sign up
Five checks take less time than filling in a registration form.
- Read the footer. Look for a company name and a registration number, not just a brand logo.
- Search the company name on its own. Metlait SRL and Novatrix SRL, the two entities we found behind four of the brands in this list, turn up the same way.
- Run the domain through a WHOIS lookup. A domain registered a few months ago carries different risk to one that's been running for years.
- Try the support email before you deposit, not after. If it bounces, that's your answer.
- Load the site from the connection you'll actually use to play. A brand can look fine on paper and still return an error page, the way WantedWin and Crusino did for us on 2026-08-04.
What this page doesn't cover yet
We have checked landing-page accessibility on all five brands and cross-checked corporate registration details on four of them as of 2026-08-04, but we haven't measured withdrawal times for any of them, only the deposit-side cashier lists. We also haven't been able to confirm game studios or lobby content for WantedWin or Crusino, because their landing pages blocked our check. Where a fact isn't in the table above, we'd rather leave it out than guess at a number that looks precise and isn't. You can read how we run these checks on our methodology page.
If PayID matters to you, start with CrownPokies. If you want the reload and cashback rotation to keep running after the welcome offer, Richard Casino and StayCasino publish one weekly. Pick the cashier that matches how you want to fund the account, then read the wagering terms yourself before you claim anything.
