About SpinCompass
SpinCompass reviews online casino sites available to players in the United Kingdom. We exist because most rankings in this market cannot be checked. A number appears next to an operator's name, the reader has no way of knowing how it was produced, and by the time the terms turn out to be different from the headline, the deposit is already made.
We took the opposite approach. Our score is arithmetic. Seven criteria, each with a fixed weight adding to 100, each with a published scale that says what a ten looks like and what a two looks like. Anyone can take our notes on an operator and rebuild the final figure. That is the whole design goal: a score you can audit rather than a score you have to believe.
What we prioritise
A quarter of every score is withdrawal speed and reliability, because that is where the difference between operators is real and where the reader's money actually sits. Bonus terms carry a fifth, and we assess the wagering requirement rather than the size of the headline number, a £500 match at 65× is a worse offer than £50 with no wagering, and we score it that way. Licensing, safer gambling tools and account fairness carry 15%, and licence status is taken from the UK Gambling Commission register rather than from any operator's own claims about itself.
The full breakdown, with protocols and the points scale, is on our Methodology page.
Where we are right now
SpinCompass is a new publication and we would rather show the counter than imply a history we do not have:
- 24 licence register checks completed, most recently on 29 July 2026
- 3 withdrawal timing tests logged
- 0 landing page availability checks so far
These figures are updated as work is completed. Where a criterion has not yet been measured for a given operator, the review says Not yet measured and that criterion is excluded from the total rather than filled in with a guess. First measurements are published as they accumulate. You will not find a claim on this site that we have tested hundreds of operators, because we have not.
How we are funded
By affiliate commission. Some of the operators listed here pay us when a reader opens an account through our links. We say this on every page that carries such a link, the links run through our own /go/ redirect with rel="sponsored nofollow", and the arrangement has no input into the scoring formula. Ranked lists are ordered by score, descending, with no exceptions. The full account is in our Editorial Policy.
What we do not do
We do not publish tips, systems or strategies for beating casino games, because none exist. We do not run countdowns or urgency messaging. We do not use the words "risk-free" or "no risk". We do not write for anyone under 18, and we do not use imagery or language with appeal to young people. We do not hold player accounts, process payments or intervene in disputes, for those, the operator's licensed complaints procedure and its UKGC-approved ADR provider are the routes with actual authority.
Who writes it
Everything published here is written and signed off by Imogen Hartley, who built the scoring model and is editorially responsible for the site. There is no anonymous content on SpinCompass and no ghost-written operator copy.
