What we like / What could be better

What we like

  • Real dealers streamed live for the table action itself, not a random number generator
  • Table limits vary widely: £1 spins and four-figure hands both exist, often on the same site
  • Evolution, Pragmatic Play Live and Playtech run most UK tables, so software quality stays consistent across brands
  • Game rules and payouts are studio-standard, which makes comparing tables across sites straightforward

What could be better

  • Wagering contribution for live tables is usually low or zero, so they rarely help clear a bonus
  • We've only logged three withdrawal-speed checks so far, not enough for a live casino payout time
  • Availability hasn't been checked yet on the three cashiers compared above, so table counts can differ from what's live now
  • Low-stake tables can get busy at peak times and bump you into a higher-limit room

Everything under it works through the sections that follow: which studio actually deals your cards, what the table limits mean in practice, and whether the hand you just won counts towards a bonus.

Who actually deals your cards: Evolution, Pragmatic Play Live and Playtech

A live dealer casino streams a real croupier from a broadcast studio to your screen, not a random number generator spinning behind the scenes. The dealer, the wheel and the cards are physical. Only three companies build almost all of the studios that UK-facing sites plug into.

Evolution is the largest. It runs Lightning Roulette, Crazy Time and most of the blackjack tables you'll see branded under a casino's own name, because the casino is licensing Evolution's stream, not building its own.

Pragmatic Play Live is the newer challenger. Its Mega Wheel and Mega Sic Bo tables show up across a growing list of sites, often at lower minimum stakes than Evolution's flagship rooms.

Playtech supplies the rest, including Quantum Blackjack and some of the older-style roulette rooms that still run without side bets or multipliers.

What this means for you: the casino's own name on the lobby tile tells you less than the studio badge in the corner. Two sites with completely different branding can be running the exact same Evolution stream, same dealer, same wheel, same limits. If you like a specific table, check which studio streams it and you can usually find it again on a different site under a different skin.

How these live casino sites compare

Three cashiers we track show enough difference to matter before you fund an account.

SitePayment methods we've seenGame studios listedAvailability confirmed
AtefiaVisa, Mastercard, Skrill, Paysafecard, BitcoinNetEnt, Microgaming, Betsoft, Thunderkick, Relax GamingNot yet checked
SpinFinVisa, Mastercard, Skrill, Neteller, Bank transferPragmatic Play, Hacksaw Gaming, Play'n GO, Nolimit City, Push Gaming, Big Time GamingNot yet checked
X3BetVisa, Mastercard, Neteller, Bitcoin, EthereumPragmatic Play, Evolution Gaming, BGaming, EndorphinaNot yet checked

Only X3Bet names Evolution Gaming directly among its listed providers, which matters if Lightning Roulette or Crazy Time is what you're after. The other two lean on Pragmatic Play and a mix of slots studios; live tables from those brands run through Pragmatic Play Live rather than Evolution's stream.

None of the three has had its lobby availability checked by us yet, so treat table counts and opening hours as a starting point, not a guarantee. We'll update this table once that work is done.

Live roulette online: which wheel to sit at

Live roulette online splits into a handful of standard formats, and the format matters more than the casino running it.

European Roulette is the baseline: single zero, 2.7% house edge, no gimmicks. It's the wheel to default to if two options look otherwise identical.

Speed Roulette cuts the time between spins by removing the betting recap and shortening the wheel animation. Good for players who find the standard pace slow, less good if you like time to think between bets.

Lightning Roulette, Evolution's own, adds random multipliers up to 500x on straight-up number bets, paid out as a lump sum on top of the normal payout. The multiplier feature increases variance considerably, so a session can run drier for longer stretches between big hits.

Immersive Roulette uses multiple camera angles and slow-motion replays on the winning number. Cosmetic rather than mathematical, but it changes how a session feels.

Whichever wheel you pick, the outside bets (red/black, odd/even, dozens) pay the same regardless of studio. What changes between tables is the minimum bet, which can run from £1 up to several hundred pounds on the same wheel type at the same time in a different room.

Live blackjack online: tables and side bets

Live blackjack online comes in more shapes than live roulette does, because the side bets and table rules vary by version.

Blackjack Party keeps standard rules but adds a livelier presentation and occasional bonus rounds between hands. Infinite Blackjack removes the seat limit entirely: everyone at the table plays their own hand against the same dealer, so there's no waiting for a spot to open.

Free Bet Blackjack gives you free double-downs and splits on specific hands, in exchange for the dealer pushing on 22 instead of everyone losing. It shifts the house edge in a way that rewards players who know basic strategy and costs those who don't.

Side bets, Perfect Pairs, 21+3, Bust It, sit on top of any of these variants and carry a much higher house edge than the main game. They're optional on every table we've seen, never compulsory, and worth treating as a separate, smaller stake rather than part of your main blackjack bankroll.

Table limits: why the number on the lobby tile matters more than the casino's name

Limits belong to the table, not to the site. A single casino can run a £0.50 minimum roulette wheel in its main lobby and a £5,000 minimum VIP blackjack table under the same account, streamed from the same studio.

This is why comparing casino A's limits to casino B's limits rarely tells you much. What actually differs is which rooms a given site has licensed access to, and the studio decides that, not the casino's marketing team.

If you're playing small, look for tables tagged low stakes or bronze in the lobby filter rather than judging by the casino's overall reputation. If you want a private table, high-stakes and VIP rooms sit behind a separate login on most Evolution-powered sites, and the minimum there is usually set in the hundreds of pounds rather than pounds and pence.

Does live casino count towards wagering?

Mostly no, or only a small fraction. Live tables run close to their theoretical return, which makes them a poor bet for an operator trying to protect a bonus pool. Most wagering contribution tables put live roulette and live blackjack at 0–10%, against 100% for most slots.

Practically, this means a bonus that says 35x wagering is almost never clearable by playing live tables at that rate. If a site does allow live play towards wagering, the contribution percentage will be buried in the bonus terms, not the promo banner, so it's worth opening the full terms page rather than trusting the headline number.

We don't currently have published bonus terms logged for the three operators in the comparison table above; none of them have a live promotion in our records right now, so we're not going to guess a contribution rate for any of them. When a bonus is added, we'll list the wagering figure and the base it applies to, deposit only or deposit plus bonus, because that distinction changes the real target by roughly double.

Cashier methods you'll see at UK live casino tables

Debit card remains the most universal method, since credit cards have been off the table for UK gambling deposits since April 2020. Across the three cashiers we track, Visa and Mastercard show up on every list, alongside e-wallets: Skrill and Neteller appear on two of the three, and X3Bet lists Bitcoin and Ethereum alongside its card options.

Bank transfer sits on SpinFin's list as the slower fallback, useful if a card gets declined but rarely the fastest way to fund a session. Paysafecard, on Atefia's list, works for deposits only; there's no return route through a voucher, so a withdrawal there defaults to whatever method the cashier falls back to instead.

Elsewhere in the UK market, PayPal and other bank-linked payment services are common e-wallet options at other operators, though none of these turned up on the three cashiers we track this round. If a specific e-wallet matters to you, check the cashier page directly before registering rather than assuming it's there because it's common.

Bonus types that touch live tables: welcome offers, cashback and no wagering deals

A welcome bonus is the most common entry point, usually a deposit match with free spins attached, though free spins apply to slots rather than live tables. Cashback deals return a percentage of net losses over a set period and typically do cover live play, since the operator isn't handing out bonus funds up front. No wagering offers skip the playthrough requirement entirely and are the simplest to use at a live table, when they exist, because there's no contribution percentage to worry about.

None of that is a promise about the three operators listed on this page. We don't have current bonus terms logged for Atefia, SpinFin or X3Bet, so treat any offer you see on their own site as the only source until we've confirmed the wagering figure and the base it's calculated on.

How live dealer fairness actually works

Live tables don't use a random number generator for the outcome itself, a physical wheel or a physical shoe of cards does that job, but software still checks the result. Optical character recognition reads the card values and the ball position in real time and cross-checks them against what the dealer calls, which is how disputes get resolved without a human reviewing footage frame by frame.

The studios themselves, Evolution, Pragmatic Play Live and Playtech, are certified by independent testing labs that audit shuffle machines and wheel balance on a schedule, separately from whatever licence the casino displaying the stream holds. That separation matters: the fairness of the wheel is a studio-level fact, consistent across every site that licenses it, while the casino layer only controls the account, the cashier and the bonus terms around it.

We haven't run our own audit of any studio's equipment. What we can tell you is which studios are involved, and you can see how we assess the operators on top of them on our methodology page.

What we haven't measured yet

Two gaps worth being upfront about. We've completed three withdrawal-speed checks across the operators we track so far, which is not enough to publish a reliable average payout time for live casino cashouts specifically, so we're not quoting one on this page.

We also haven't run availability checks on the Atefia, SpinFin or X3Bet lobbies listed in the comparison table above. The studio and payment lists come from what our team observed on those pages; we can't yet confirm live table counts, current opening hours, or whether every listed method is active today. Both checks are in progress, and this page will carry specific figures once they clear our bar for a usable sample.

How to pick a live casino table in five steps

  1. Pick the game type first: European Roulette or standard blackjack if you want the lowest house edge, Lightning Roulette or a side-bet blackjack variant if you want higher variance.
  2. Check which studio streams it. Evolution, Pragmatic Play Live and Playtech each have a slightly different pace and presentation style.
  3. Filter by minimum bet in the lobby rather than judging the casino by its homepage. The same studio often runs both a £1 table and a £500 table at the same time.
  4. Open the bonus terms, if you're claiming one, and look for the live casino contribution percentage before you sit down. If it's not stated, assume it's low or zero.
  5. Confirm your payment method covers both deposit and withdrawal. A voucher method like Paysafecard funds the account but won't pay it back out, so check the cashier page for the return route before you fund it.

Worth knowing

1

Check the studio badge

Look for Evolution, Pragmatic Play Live or Playtech branding in the corner of the stream before you judge a table by the casino's name around it.

2

Filter by stake, not by homepage

Use the lobby's minimum bet filter. The same studio often runs a £1 table and a £500 table side by side under one account.

3

Read the wagering contribution first

If you're claiming a bonus, find the live casino contribution percentage in the full terms before you sit down. It's usually 0–10%, rarely more.

4

Match your deposit and withdrawal method

Vouchers like Paysafecard fund an account but never pay it back out. Check the cashier's return route before you deposit with one.

Frequently asked questions

Which live casino has the lowest limits?

Low-stake tables commonly start around £0.10–£1 per spin or hand at major studios like Evolution and Pragmatic Play Live, though the exact minimum depends on which lobby room you land in. We haven't logged a specific per-operator minimum for Atefia, SpinFin or X3Bet yet, so check each cashier's lobby filter directly.

Who runs the live tables?

Three studios supply almost all UK-facing live tables: Evolution, the largest, running Lightning Roulette and most branded blackjack rooms; Pragmatic Play Live, newer and often cheaper to enter; and Playtech, which still runs older-style roulette and blackjack without added multipliers or side features.

Is live casino fair?

The wheel and cards are physical, not software-generated, and optical recognition cross-checks every result against the dealer's call. The studio behind the stream, not the casino showing it, is audited by independent testing labs on a set schedule. We haven't audited any studio's equipment ourselves; see our methodology page for how we score the operators on top.

What are the table limits?

Limits sit on the table, not the casino. The same studio can run a £0.50 minimum roulette wheel in the main lobby and a £5,000 minimum VIP blackjack table under the same account. Filter by stake in the lobby rather than judging a site by its overall reputation or homepage banner.

Does live casino count towards wagering?

Rarely at full rate. Most operators weight live roulette and live blackjack at 0–10% of wagering, against 100% for slots, because live tables run close to their theoretical return. Check the bonus terms page for the exact contribution percentage; we don't currently have live bonus terms logged for the operators in our comparison table above.
