How to read RTP without fooling yourself
RTP is the share of all stakes a slot returns over its full mathematical cycle — usually tens of millions of spins. A game running 96.5% returns £96.50 for every £100 staked across that cycle, and says nothing whatsoever about your next hundred spins. Two players on the same machine on the same evening will see wildly different results, and both are consistent with the published figure.
What RTP is genuinely useful for is comparison. Across a long series of sessions, a 96.5% game costs about half as much per pound staked as a 93% game. That difference is invisible in one night and unmissable over a year, which is why it belongs on every page here and why we print it as the provider states it.
The same slot can ship with different RTP
This is the part that catches most players out. Plenty of studios supply operators with several configurations of one title — the same reels, the same bonus, the same artwork, but 96.5% at one casino and 94.2% at another. The choice belongs to the operator, not to the player, and it is rarely advertised.
The figure we publish is the headline version from the provider. Before you play, open the game rules from inside the lobby and check the RTP line there: it reflects the build that particular casino has licensed. It takes two clicks, and it is the only number that applies to the money you are about to stake.
Volatility is about pacing, not generosity
Volatility describes how a slot distributes what it returns. Low volatility pays small amounts often, so a balance drifts down slowly and sessions last. Very high volatility withholds for long stretches and concentrates returns into rare events, so the same balance can vanish in twenty minutes or triple in one bonus round.
Neither setting is more generous — RTP governs that. What volatility governs is whether the stake you have chosen can survive the dry spell long enough to reach the paying part. On a very high volatility slot with a 5,000x ceiling, that usually means smaller stakes and more of them, not the other way round.
What a max win figure actually promises
A 5,000x ceiling means the game will pay at most five thousand times the triggering stake, and that the maths is capped there even if the multipliers on screen would have gone further. It is a limit, not a target, and on most high-ceiling slots it is reached by a vanishingly small fraction of players.
The useful way to read it is alongside volatility. A 5,000x cap on a low volatility game means the top end is theoretical; the same cap on a very high volatility game means the distribution is genuinely stretched towards it. Both facts sit on every game page here, side by side, for exactly that reason.
Demo play, bonus buy and ante bet
Most titles run in demo mode with play money, which is the cheapest way to learn a bonus round before committing to it. What demo cannot show you is how the game feels when the balance is real, and that difference is worth respecting.
A bonus buy skips the wait by charging a fixed multiple of the stake — typically 80x to 120x — for immediate entry to the feature. An ante bet raises every spin by around 25% in exchange for better trigger odds. Both change the cost per hour substantially, and neither changes the RTP in your favour: on most games the bought version runs at the same rate or slightly lower.

We do not estimate, round or infer them, and where a figure has not been established the field stays empty rather than being filled with a plausible number.
Availability is separate. A casino appears in the where-to-play block on a game page only when the title, or at minimum its studio, was seen in that lobby — and the wording tells you which of the two it was. Catalogues are cut by jurisdiction, so a studio being present is not a promise that a particular game is.

Does a higher RTP mean I will win more?
Not in any given session. RTP is measured over the game’s full mathematical cycle, which runs to tens of millions of spins. It reliably predicts long-run cost per pound staked and predicts nothing at all about tonight.
Why does the same slot show a different RTP at another casino?

Are some slots due to pay out?
